Enjoy the different taste experience that comes from using wine as an ingredient for some unique and exotic drinks.

Applause
4 oz White Zinfandel
2 oz Apple Juice
Bishop
3 oz. red wine
2 oz. lemon juice
2 tsp. simple syrup
Shake with cracked ice and strain into chilled wineglass. Garnish with an orange twist.
Blackberry Melonball
8 oz. Blackberry Merlot Mist
1 oz. melon liqueur
1 oz. vodka
Mix in a glass with ice.
Cool Jazz
1 oz dry white wine
3/4 oz banana liqueur
1/2 oz lime juice
1 slice of banana
Shake wine, liqueur and lime juice well with ice, and strain into a cocktail glass. Float banana slice on top.
Cranberry Twist
4 oz Cranberry Mist
4 oz Cranberry Juice
1 oz Gin
Serve in a glass with ice. Garnish with lime.
French Curve
4 oz. chilled dry white wine
1 tsp Pernod
1 tsp maraschino liqueur
1 slice lemon
1/2 slice orange
Pour wine, Pernod, and maraschino liqueur into large wine glass. Add ice cubes. Stir. Add lemon and orange slices.
Kir
3/4 oz Crème de Cassis
White Wine
Pour creme de Cassis in bottom of Wine glass, Fill with wine, Garnish with a twist.
Kir Royale
3/4 oz Crème de Cassis
Champagne
Pour Creme de Cassis in bottom of Wine glass or flute, Fill with champagne, Garnish with a twist.
Little Eva
2 oz. Red wine
1/4 oz. triple sec
1 tsp. lime or lemon juice
4 oz. lemon-lime soda
Pour the wine, triple sec and juice over ice in a glass. Stir. Add the soda and stir gently.
Manhattan Cooler
1 navel orange
3 oz dry red wine
1 oz dark rum
2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup club soda
Beginning at the navel end and working around the orange, remove the rind with a lemon zester to form an unbroken spiral strip. In a tall glass, combine wine, rum and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved and arrange the orange spiral in the glass, hooking one end of it over the edge. Fill glass with ice and add soda.
Mimosa
Orange Juice
Champagne
Fill Champagne glass 1/4 full with orange juice, and top up with Champagne.
Mulled Wine (makes 1 litre)
One litre of red wine
One peeled, sliced orange
1/4 cup of brandy
10 cloves
2/3 cup honey or sugar
3 cinnamon sticks
2 tsp allspice
Combine all ingredients in either a large pot or a slow cooker. Gently warm the ingredients on low to medium heat (avoid boiling), for 20-25 minutes. Stir occasionally to make sure that the honey or sugar has completely dissolved.
Sangria (makes 1 gallon)
5 bottles dry red wine
2/3 cup sugar
3 oranges, sliced with rind
2 lemons, sliced with rind
2 apples, sliced with skin
2 cinnamon sticks
Mix all ingredients in a punch bowl. Let flavours blend for several hours. Serve with ice.
Spritzer
White Wine
Club Soda
Fill a glass 3/4 full with white wine, add ice, and top up with soda.
Strawberry Fields
4 oz. chilled Strawberry White Zinfandel
1 oz. strawberry schnapps or brandy
1 frozen whole strawberry for garnish
In a wine glass, combine schnapps or brandy and Arbor Mist - Strawberry White Zinfandel. Stir well. Drop a frozen strawberry into glass just before serving.
Strawberry White Wine Cooler (makes 1 litre)
2 cups strawberries (about 1 pint), trimmed
1/3 cup sugar
a 750-ml. bottle Sauvignon Blanc or other dry white wine, chilled
In a bowl gently toss together strawberries and sugar and let stand 10 minutes. In a blender purée strawberry mixture with wine until smooth and pour through a fine sieve into a pitcher. Wine cooler may be made 4 hours ahead and chilled.
Serve wine cooler chilled over ice.
Strawberry Zing
8 oz Strawberry White Zinfandel Mist
1/2 oz vodka
1 oz lime juice
Blend and serve in a glass with ice.
Vesuvius
3 oz. dry white wine
1 tsp apricot liqueur
1 tsp amaretto
Stir ingredients well with ice. Strain into wine glass. Garnish with cucumber slice.
White Sangria
1/2 cup peach schnapps
1/2 cup cognac
1/4 cup white sugar
4 oranges, sliced into rounds
2 mangos, peeled and sliced
4 (750 milliliter) bottles dry white wine, chilled
1 liter ginger ale, chilled
In a pitcher, combine peach schnapps, cognac, sugar, oranges and mangos. Chill for at least an hour. Pour fruit mixture into a large punch bowl. Stir in white wine and ginger ale.
Wine Collins
4 oz. red wine
juice of 1/2 lemon
4 oz. sparkling water
Squeeze lemon juice into Collins glass, fill half way with wine. Add ice cubes and fill with sparkling water. Garnish with lemon peel.
Yuletide Punch (Serves 12)
3 bottles dry red wine
1 1/2 cups brandy
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 cinnamon sticks
8 whole cloves
3 small lemons, zest scored lengthwise if desired with a channel knife and fruit sliced thin crosswise
In a large saucepan bring wine and brandy to a simmer with sugar, cinnamon and cloves, stirring, and cook at a bare simmer 2 minutes. Stir in lemon slices and ladle into heat-proof cups.
Zin Bubbles
3 oz. white zinfandel
2 oz. Schweppes Ginger Ale
Serve on ice.
